About the Role

As the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the workshop, ensuring exceptional customer service, high productivity, and quality workmanship. You will lead a team of technicians, apprentices and support staff while maintaining a safe, efficient and positive working environment.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the workshop.
  • Drive workshop productivity, efficiency and profitability while maintaining exceptional service standards.
  • Plan and allocate work to maximise workshop capacity and meet customer expectations.
  • Monitor job progress and ensure repairs are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Mentor, coach and develop technicians and apprentices to achieve their full potential.
  • Maintain a strong focus on workplace health and safety, quality control and compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal departments.
  • Work closely with the Service Department to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workshop processes, performance and team engagement.

 

About You

You are a motivated leader with a strong heavy vehicle background and a passion for developing people and driving results. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy leading teams to achieve outstanding outcomes.

 

To be successful, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a Workshop Manager or senior workshop leadership role.
  • A trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Technician (preferred).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor and develop a team.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • A sound understanding of workshop operations, productivity and financial performance.
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
  • A proactive approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • The ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the business.
