About the Role
Reporting to the Service Manager in our Port Augusta Light Vehicle workshop, the Automotive Accessory Fitter will be responsible for the fitment to new vehicles in preparation for delivery to our customers.
You do not need to be a qualified mechanic, but you will have a strong eye for detail and accuracy and will take personal pride in your work. Your commitment to working efficiently whilst not compromising on standards and quality is essential.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of newly assembled or serviced vehicles to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Perform comprehensive tests on vehicle systems, including brakes, steering, electrical components, and engine performance, to verify functionality and safety.
- Make necessary adjustments to vehicle components to ensure proper alignment, functionality, and performance.
- Install additional accessories or features requested by customers, such as GPS systems, entertainment systems, specialized lighting, bull bars, etc.
- Complete all required paperwork and documentation related to vehicle inspections, testing, adjustments, and installations.
- Ensure that vehicles meet all regulatory requirements and manufacturer standards before being delivered to customers.
- Communicate effectively with other members of the workshop team to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient workflow.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing any concerns or questions customers may have about their vehicles during the pre-delivery process.
About you
- Mechanically mined and a strong desire to learn about the fitment of aftermarket accessories
- Previous experience in a similar role (Vehicle repair, maintenance or pre delivery)
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
