Transport Manager

We’re looking for a hands-on Transport Manager who can lead a team, coordinate daily transport operations, manage compliance, and keep things running safely and efficiently. At Big Chief, we manage local and interstate transport operations, and we’re looking for someone who knows how to lead from the front and keep jobs moving. What You’ll Do

• Oversee and coordinate daily transport operations across local and interstate routes
• Manage fleet scheduling, driver allocation, and transport planning
• Lead and support a team of experienced drivers and logistics staff
• Coordinate deliveries, routes, permits, and schedules while balancing efficiency, compliance, and safety
• Monitor fleet performance and ensure transport operations run smoothly
• Build and maintain great relationships with clients, drivers, suppliers, and the wider Big Chief network

 

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in transport management, logistics, or fleet operations
• Strong knowledge of transport compliance, NHVR requirements, fatigue management, and safety standards
• Experience leading drivers and coordinating transport operations
• Confident communicator and natural problem-solver who leads from the front
• Calm under pressure, proactive, and committed to getting the job done right
