Transport & Compliance Administration- BCH SA


Big Chief Hire in Burton is looking for a Transport & Compliance Administrator to become an essential part of our fast-paced team. Working closely with drivers, customers, and internal teams, you’ll play a key role in coordinating transport administration, maintaining compliance records, and ensuring our operations run smoothly behind the scenes.

 

About the Role

Reporting to the National Transport Manager, you'll support our Heavy Haulage operations by maintaining accurate documentation, assisting with scheduling, and coordinating driver and transport compliance requirements. You’ll help ensure our operations meet customer and regulatory requirements while keeping day-to-day administration running smoothly.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage document control for end-to-end deliveries, including bookings, scheduling, dispatch, and returns.
  • Assist with coordinating the transport, delivery, and collection of machinery and vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment, including items in the branch, on route, or undergoing service and repairs.
  • Monitor and maintain Excel spreadsheets, system logs, and compliance documentation.
  • Allocate jobs through the CRM system.
  • Process purchase orders and invoices.
  • Complete data entry into the ERP system.
  • Manage driver administration and maintain driver licence records.
  • Coordinate site inductions and ensure driver requirements are up to date.
  • Ensure compliance with customer systems and requirements.
  • Support transport compliance processes and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide general clerical and administrative support to the two Transport Managers.

 

About You

You’re someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys staying organised, and has a strong eye for detail. You bring:

 

  • Previous experience in transport, truck or machinery operations (advantageous).
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Excellent multitasking and time-management abilities.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy when managing documentation and compliance records.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • A proactive mindset and strong problem-solving ability.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively as part of a team.
