Established in 1999, we have a reputation for building high quality customised truck bodies for clients across Australia. Our Burton facility employs over 50 experienced tradespersons, and we are on the hunt for a salesperson to join our dynamic team.

About the Role

Northeast Engineering is looking to welcome a Trade Assistant to their Fitment team. As a Trade Assistant your primary focus is assisting the qualified tradespeople in the fitment of truck bodies and accessories.  

Key responsibilities:

  • Fitting bodies out with accessories outlined by customers including but not limited to, Ladders, Toolboxes, custom mounted components, Lighting, Tarp Motors, ADR Stickers
  • Assisting qualified tradespeople in all aspects of their duties
  • Operating and maintaining tools and machinery
  • Following safety protocols and maintaining a clear working environment
  • Performing quality checks and reporting issues appropriately
  • Supporting with general labour tasks.

About you 

 To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals (desirable)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to safety
  • Forklift License (desirable)
