Team Leader- Final Fitment Hydraulic and Plating Section
Northeast Engineering is expanding and seeking a hands-on Team Leader to run our Final Fitment Hydraulic and Plating Section in Adelaide (on-site, full-time), overseeing the critical stage where premium truck bodies and hydraulic systems come together on OEM truck chassis. This role suits a mechanically strong leader who thrives on problem solving, coaching a team, and delivering high-quality builds, while working on the tools and driving consistent, high-standard outcomes in a growing business
What You’ll Lead
Our Final Fitment team completes the installation and hydraulic integration of:
- Tipper bodies & trailers
- Tilt‑sliders
- Crane trucks
- Hooklifts
- Skiploaders
- Chassis preparation for body mounting
You’ll coordinate workflow, support the team with technical challenges, and ensure every build leaves the workshop safe, compliant, and finished to a high standard.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and mentoring a small team of fitters and apprentices
- Overseeing mechanical and hydraulic fitment on truck chassis
- Ensuring compliance with ADRs, OEM guidelines, and internal QA standards
- Conducting inspections, testing, and sign‑off
- Driving efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement across the section
What You Bring
- Trade qualification (Heavy Vehicle, Diesel Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, etc.)
- Strong experience with hydraulic systems and truck body fitment
- Proven leadership capability in a workshop or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read drawings and hydraulic schematics
- A commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork
Bonus points for crane/PTO experience, forklift/dogging tickets, or exposure to lean/5S.
