Sandblaster


Northeast Engineering is a transport engineering company specialising in vehicle motor body building. Established in 1999, we have a reputation for building high quality customised truck bodies for clients across Australia. Our Burton facility employs over 50 experienced tradespersons, and we are on the hunt for a Sandblaster to join our dynamic team.

 

About the roles

As a Sandblaster for Northeast Engineering, you will be responsible for performing abrasive blasts to metal surfaces and objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, tar, rust and dirt to achieve their desired finish.

Key responsibilities

  • Blasting new bodies using steel shot and garnet
  • Blasting custom components and accessories to be fitted to the body
  • Operating and power tools such as grinders, saws, drills etc.
  • Safely performing manual handling tasks
  • Inspect and quality checking products as required
  • Set up and maintain sandblasting equipment, including hoses, nozzles and protective gear.

 

About you 

You will have enthusiasm and passion for the automotive and heavy manufacturing industry, and the mindset to help deliver great results.

You will also have

  • Previous experience as a sandblaster
  • Knowledge of different blasting media
  • Forklift License
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
