Engineering Receptionist


Join Northeast Engineering as a Receptionist and be the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and staff in a busy engineering environment. You’ll play a key role in supporting daily operations and ensuring the office runs smoothly, with variety in every day.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Answering and directing incoming phone calls in a professional manner
  • Greeting and assisting customers, visitors, and staff
  • Monitoring reception and service-related emails
  • Managing uniform orders and communicate any issues with staff and suppliers
  • Processing payments and settlements
  • Carrying out general administrative tasks as required by team leaders and office staff
  • Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen area, including regular coffee machine cleaning and restocking supplies
  • Ordering and managing office supplies
  • Filing and maintaining accurate records
  • Opening and closing the office, including securing premises and managing keys
  • Maintaining registers for safety glasses and orange vest usage
  • Updating production line schedules
  • Updating first aid and warden notice boards and posters

  • Previous reception or customer service experience (essential)
  • Friendly, professional, and client-focused attitude (essential)
  • Driver’s licence (essential)
  • Strong ability to prioritise and manage multiple competing tasks
  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail with strong problem-solving ability
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and able to quickly learn new systems
  • Strong customer-focused mindset with a commitment to quality service
  • Interest in the engineering or industrial environment is highly regarded
