Diesel Mechanic - HV, Machinery and Equipment


Big Chief Hire specialise in the Hire of civil construction and machinery equipment across four states in Australia including, SA, VIC, QLD and NSW.  


About the role

Our Head Office site is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Technician to join their dynamic team. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing, servicing and repairing a wide range of heavy vehicles, machinery and equipment.

Your day to day tasks will include:

  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical problems
  • Repairing and servicing a diverse range of vehicles and equipment
  • Planning of jobs and identifying the required parts and components to complete the job efficiently
  • Completing the required paperwork including strong story writing in relation to the work performed, in particular for warranty work
  • Maintaining a commitment to safety in the workplace

About you 

  • Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or related qualification
  • Heavy or light industry exposure and experience will be highly regarded but not essential
  • A safety and compliance driven approach to your day-to-day work
  • Driver’s licence (HR Licence advantageous)
