Credit Controller- BCH SA


We are seeking an experienced and motivated Credit Controller to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing customer accounts, maintaining strong client relationships, and supporting the smooth financial operations of the company.

 

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Credit Controller to join our Finance team. Reporting directly to the Assistant Accountant, this role is responsible for managing customer accounts, overseeing collections, maintaining accurate reconciliations, monitoring credit risk, and supporting strong cash flow outcomes while building positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Process daily bank reconciliations and customer receipting
  • Prepare daily cash flow reports and two-month cash flow forecasts
  • Process new customer trade account applications
  • Monitor and assess customer credit risk through Creditor Watch
  • Manage credit note processing in line with company policy
  • Monitor and update customer credit limits and stop hire statuses
  • Liaise with internal departments regarding accounts receivable and operational matters affecting collections
  • Ensure credit policies and procedures are consistently applied
  • Manage customer collections and resolve account queries
  • Reconcile customer accounts accurately and maintain customer master data
  • Manage overdue accounts and work with internal stakeholders to resolve outstanding issues
  • Implement strategies to maximise cash flow and minimise bad debt exposure
  • Review and release orders placed on credit hold in line with company policies
  • Reconcile major accounts monthly and provide reporting to the Group Finance Manager
  • Build strong relationships with customers and internal teams to support collaboration and service outcomes


Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Accounts Receivable or Credit Control roles
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and customer relationship management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • High attention to detail with strong problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Sound understanding of credit control processes, collections, and account reconciliations
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
  • Knowledge of ethical credit practices and company compliance standards
