CNC/Laser Machine Operator


As a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC Router machines to manufacture precision parts and components. You’ll play a key role in ensuring products are produced to exact specifications while maintaining efficiency, quality, and safety throughout the process. Our role is base in Burton, South Australia.

What You’ll Do:

Set up and operate CNC Router machines (Multicam brand) to cut, shape, and machine materials.

Prepare and optimise cutting files, including nesting components for efficient material use.

  • Load raw materials onto large flatbed machines (15000c, 3000mm) and secure them for machining.
  • Perform jig-work to support accurate production processes.
  • Receive, handle, and unload board products, ensuring materials are stored correctly.
  • Use overhead cranes and forklifts to safely load and unload heavy materials.
  • Sort, label, and organise finished components to meet production schedules.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines (daily, weekly, and monthly).
  • Monitor machine operations to detect issues, make adjustments, and ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Conduct quality checks using measuring tools, ensuring finished parts align with technical drawings and tolerances.
  • Maintain accurate records of production runs, maintenance, and quality inspections.
  • Keep the work area safe, clean, and organised at all times

What You’ll Bring:

  • Demonstrated experience as a CNC Operator, ideally with router machines.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining principles, cutting methods, and production processes.
  • Ability to set up, operate, and perform basic troubleshooting on CNC equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical documents.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming languages (G-codes and M-codes).
  • Valid forklift licence (essential) and experience operating overhead cranes.
  • Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in quality control.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative production team.
