Casual Trade Assistant - Fitment
Northeast Engineering is looking to welcome casual skilled Trades Assistants to join our production team!
Northeast Engineering is a transport engineering company, established in 1999, we have a reputation for building high quality customised truck bodies for clients across Australia. Our Burton facility employs over 50 experienced tradespersons, and we are on the hunt for skilled Trades Assistants to join our dynamic team.
About the Role
As a Trade Assistant your primary focus is assisting the qualified tradespeople in the fitment of truck bodies and accessories.
Key responsibilities:
- Fitting bodies out with accessories outlined by customers including but not limited to, Ladders, Toolboxes, custom mounted components, Lighting, Tarp Motors, ADR Stickers
- Assisting qualified tradespeople in all aspects of their duties
- Operating and maintaining tools and machinery
- Following safety protocols and maintaining a clear working environment
- Performing quality checks and reporting issues appropriately
- Supporting with general labour tasks.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals (desirable)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to safety
- Forklift License (desirable)
