Assistant Service Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Service Manager to support the daily operations of our busy workshop in Shepparton. Working closely with the Service Manager, you will play a key role in leading our team of diesel technicians and service advisors, ensuring exceptional customer service, strong workshop productivity and a safe, compliant environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with heavy vehicle or truck dealership experience who is ready to step into a leadership position within a well-established and growing business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Service Manager in overseeing day to day workshop operations
  • Coordinate service bookings, job allocations and technician workflow for heavy vehicles
  • Monitor workshop productivity, efficiency and quality control standards
  • Ensure repairs and servicing are completed safely, on time and to manufacturer requirements
  • Provide leadership and day to day support to technicians, apprentices and service advisors
  • Manage customer enquiries and escalations in a professional and solutions focused manner
  • Oversee accurate job costing, invoicing and manufacturer warranty claim processing
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with WHS requirements and dealership standards 

About You

  • Previous experience in a heavy vehicle, truck or commercial workshop environment
  • Experience in a Service Advisor, Workshop Controller or leadership capacity preferred
  • Strong understanding of heavy vehicle servicing, diagnostics and repair processes
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced workshop environment
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using dealership management systems and Microsoft Office
