Accounts Payable Officer - Burton

About the role
Based at Burton and reporting to the Credit Controller, we are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Officer to provide financial, administrative, and clerical support to the finance department. The successful candidate will ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments, maintain updated records of accounts payable transactions, and assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise. The Accounts Payable Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining positive relationships with clients and ensuring the smooth functioning of the accounts payable process.
Day to day you will:
- Generate and issues invoices to customers accurately and in a timely manner.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues related to billing, payment or invoices
- Monitor supplier accounts for overdue payments, and follow up with clients via phone, email or mail to ensure timely payments
- Manage a high volume of supplier payments
- Receipt all funds paid to suppliers
- Oversee reconciliation of funds to the correct ledger
- Follow up outstanding items with customers and supplier
- Liaise with internal teams and customers to resolve supplier inquires and disputes
- Maintain accurate record of accounts payable transactions and update customer information accordingly.
- Assist with projects and tasks assigned by Chief of Finance or Credit Controller
About you
You will be joining a dynamic and fast paced finance team, where you will have to chance to deploy your exceptional communication, time management and organisational skills. You will have outstanding attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus and accuracy even when juggling multiple tasks.
What we would like to see on your resume:
- Work experience in a fast-paced Accounts Payable, Credit Officer or Debt Collection role
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- An accounting qualification, e.g. Certificate III or IV in Accounts Administration (desirable but not essential)
