Abrasive/Sand Blaster


As a Sandblaster with Northeast Engineering, you will be responsible for carrying out abrasive blasting on a range of metal surfaces and components. Your work will help remove scale, rust, paint, tar, sand, and other contaminants to achieve a clean, high-quality finish ready for coating or fabrication.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform abrasive blasting on new bodies using steel shot and garnet
  • Blast custom components and accessories prior to fitment
  • Operate hand and power tools including grinders, saws, and drills
  • Safely complete manual handling tasks in line with workplace procedures
  • Inspect and quality check finished products to ensure standards are met
  • Set up, operate, and maintain sandblasting equipment including hoses, nozzles, and PPE

 

About You

You are passionate about the automotive and heavy manufacturing industry and take pride in delivering quality results. You are reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment.

 

You will also have:

  • Previous experience in sandblasting or abrasive blasting
  • Understanding of different blasting media (e.g. garnet, steel shot, etc.)
  • Forklift licence (desirable/essential if required)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
